It
is said that a visit to New Zealand’s wilderness has the energy to
rekindle your passion for life. If you have never lost it, then New
Zealand is your sanctuary. This 21 or 11-day tour will explore New
Zealand’s South Island. Our cycling route follows the Island’s
pleasantly quiet paved roads, rolling past grazing sheep and farmland
amidst the myriad of bio-diversity. Brilliant blue, ocean and lake vistas
amongst lush greenery provide endless distraction on moderate day hikes.
Christchurch, Queenstown, and Nelson are just a few of the vibrant stops
along this all inclusive guided tour. Imagine exploring quiet
sand beaches, rugged coastlines, snow-capped mountains and glaciers that
creep into sub-tropical rainforests and reach for the sea. Mt Cook, the
highest mountain in New Zealand with incredible scenery is a hiker’s
paradise. Marlborough Sound on the north end of the South Island offers us
a vast opportunity for exploration whether
cycling, hiking or optional sea kayak through numerous islands. We'll visit winery's and tour past areas of
"Middle Earth" made famous through the production of the movie
"Lord of the Rings". The magnificent Banks Peninsula caps this
tour. Additional
options can
include
swimming with dolphins,
sea kayaking and wine tasting.
Join us for an unforgettable cycle, hike and kayak tour of New
Zealand’s South Island.

This
trip is for the newly enthused and the well-seasoned adventurer alike. The
roads throughout our route are rarely flat. In general, the cycling
provides consistent rolling and at times long and steep hills. The hiking
will be on a variety of terrain from flat to steep with uneven surfaces
underfoot. This tour originates and ends in Christchurch. Airport pick-up
and van support during the tour is provided. Accommodation will be mostly
Tourist Cabin though we have included a few nights of hotel or similar
style lodging. Airfare is not included. We would be happy to arrange your
flights. The average daily cycling distance is 71 kms (longest day is 118,

cycle any distance comfortable for you. Three of the days provide
opportunity for hikes, offering us magnificent views of the region. Other
